Over the last couple years I’ve heard one complaint more so than just about anything else in internet marketing, and that is frustration with videos that have no controls. These videos will not allow you to fast forward, or rewind, and don’t even think about hitting the refresh button or clicking anything on the page or you’ll have to start the entire video all over from the beginning.

Now there is a reason why these type of videos have become so common place. The bottom line is they work. People have preconceived notions all the time, and if you don’t force someone to sit through the set up of a video sales letter, it’s very unlikely that they will be interested in your product or service if they are allowed to see the price tag right away. Therefore it’s a clever tactic, it’s just a bit annoying.

However, I’m super impatient. While I understand why the marketers do this, I too just want to see the bottom line. Show me the pitch already. So, if you are anything like me, I think you’ll really dig this tip on how to fast forward videos without controls and watch them at your own pace.

PS: In the comments below you’ll see quite a few people have suggested various Firefox plug ins or other tools that will allow you to do the same thing. Also, keep in mind that not all videos are .flv files. Some may be .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .m4v, etc etc.

I wanted to upload a new blog post for a few reasons…

1. I just uploaded this new blog at profitmoffatt.com where I’ll be discussing internet marketing, doing product reviews and discussing all the different ways you can make legitimate money on the internet. I’m really excited because for once I actually installed the blog myself without the help of an assistant. Yay me! This blog will be about 100% marketing. 2. Not only did I upload the blog myself, I was able to install a custom theme that I’m pretty excited about. It’s Joel Comm’s Socrates Theme that is geared towards internet marketers. I’ll admit I’ve only been using it for about 20 minutes but so far I’m pretty impressed.

I see it being useful for doing internet marketing reviews and promoting various products across the web. Hopefully my enthusiasm remains over the coming weeks. I’ll be making more edits and customizations in the coming days. It’s pretty much a basic out of the box template as you are seeing it right now.

I’m a total rookie when it comes to creating WordPress blogs and uploading themes. However, I had no troubles and had Joel’s Socrates Theme up in running in no time. The directions were very simple and concise as well. I’ll do a proper review of the theme when I have a chance to play with it a bit more.
